You’re Not Too Old to Start Strength Training

Many women believe that once they reach their 50s, 60s plus, strength training is no longer suitable for them. Some worry about injury. Others feel it’s “too late” or that they should stick to gentle/light exercise only.

The truth is, the body is incredibly adaptable at any age.

Strength training, when taught correctly and progressed sensibly, can help women feel more capable, confident and secure in their movements. It supports everyday tasks like getting up from a chair (and the toilet), carrying shopping, climbing stairs and maintaining balance.

What changes with age is it’s the approach to exericse.
Correct form, controlled movements, sensible loads and rest become far more important than intensity or speed.

You don’t need to lift strong man heavy weights that require a weight rack and a spotter, or train for long periods. Shorter, consistent sessions, done well can make a significant difference over time.

Perhaps the most important thing to understand is this: strength training is not about proving anything. It’s about protecting your independence and quality of life.

Starting later in life doesn’t put you behind — it simply means you start where you are, with care and patience.

Your body still responds to movement. It still learns and it still grows STRONGER.

And it’s never too late to begin.

So begin!
